I'd be interested in your thoughts about writing and communications groups; which ones you belong to and why; which ones offer the best bang for the buck; what you think of these groups culturally, etc. I've joined and quit various organizations for various reasons over the years. Some I belong to almost exclusively for Web access. I don't attend the meetings of some groups because the members are pretty uptight and a little out of touch. What do you think, oh guru of the written word?

One more thing, I'd be interested in why you don't belong to certain groups as much as why you do. Thanks again.

Hi Sherree! Great idea. I can definitely see a good post in that. Initial thoughts are very much along the line of yours, but I can also see some value in a few groups. I'll think more about it...

And way to suck up with the "guru" tag. I love it :)

I disagree with John's assessment regarding your rebellion. Being rebellious just to be rebellious and market it seems to be overkill - and from reading your blog, it seems you rebel when it's needed and stick to convention when it's best to do so. I'd also be interested to hear about your involvement with groups, as well.

@John - Thanks for the opportunity, and the nice publicity you've brought my way. And keep on giving us the great content you always do at your blog.

@Sherree - :)

@Charlie - Thanks for the perspective, Charlie. I definitely agree - I don't want to be provocative just to be provocative. I want to show how rebelling at times (and in surprising ways) is a highly rewarding endeavor. I'll keep that focus in mind as I continue to blog. Thanks, as always!

It was really great to go to Poewar (a site I frequent often) and find the March Madness of Blogs. Searching for them with a search engine gets tedious. It attracted me, anyway.

I think I'll spend my next few moments exploring the site. :)

Hi Charlie. I agree that you shouldn't be rebellious just to be rebellious. I just want to see more focus on alternative ways to do things. I think that is this blog's real strength.
