The QRW Goes on a Road Trip
![]()
Hello all! I will be vacating the blogosphere this week as I trek to my home state of Iowa. (which, despite the sign, has more than manure. I swear.) What awaits me there? My brother and his wife, who welcomed a ginormous baby boy two weeks ago. My other brother, stoked to be an uncle. And my parents, ecstatic at being made grandparents. Good stuff.
But don’t worry. While I gaze lovingly at my smooshy nephew and marvel at the odd genetic stew this kid is inheriting, I’m not leaving you lovely readers empty handed. Herewith, enjoy some of the best, weirdest, coolest and most popular posts from this little corner of the blogging world. Read them. Tell us what you think. Digg/Stumble/Delicious/make out with them. They come from the heart and the head, but are truly made whole by your interaction with them.

April 21st, 2008 at 12:57 pmNooooo! Whatever will I do without my QRW?!
I’ve been hanging out here for a while and still haven’t read some of the great stuff you’ve provided. Shame on me! It’s really timely that you included it - good call. (Idea absconded for Productive Flourishing…)
We’ll be here for friendly banter, commentary, and general good times when you return.
April 21st, 2008 at 1:16 pm@Sandie - I was born and raised in Des Moines, and that’s where I’m headed. My family is spread out among Colfax, Des Moines, Urbandale, and Van Meter. Good stuff!
@Charlie - it’s ok, my friend. Breathe. Calm. All will be well. Just think. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right??

April 21st, 2008 at 5:34 pmI can’t get enough of “Annuale.” Just remember, buy a hat and hold on tight … Very funny! Can’t wait for “Baby Mama.” Enjoy Iowa. My sister was born in Cedar Falls? Something Falls anyway. Have fun.
April 21st, 2008 at 6:06 pm@Sherree - Annuale just cracks me up to no end. Glad you dug it too! And Iowa is tricking. There’s a bunch of “Falls,” “Cedar”s, and more. But yes, Cedar Falls exists and is home to the University of Northern Iowa. Which in no way holds a candle to my alma mater, the University of Iowa
April 21st, 2008 at 7:27 pmDo I detect a little elitism there oh U of I alum? (kidding) Your alma mater has a reputation that proceeds it.
April 24th, 2008 at 2:10 pmCongratu-baby-lations! How wonderful.
