Weekly Theme: Going it Alone
27
May
Hello my friends! I hope your Memorial Day weekends were full of relaxation, barbequed foodstuffs and a smattering of sunshiny warmth.
Part of the joy of this past weekend was spending good quality time with my man, and seeing good friends who I haven’t seen in some time. It was a reconnection of delightful proportions with a few parties and nights out. Which, oddly, got me thinking about a new theme for this week’s QRW posts.
As freelancers, we’re told that we can and will face loneliness, an inevitable reaction to the solitude of working by oneself at home. In the tradition established here at QRW of looking at freelancing, creativity and life issues in a slightly skewed fashion, I suggest that being alone doesn’t mean isolation and negative side effects. In fact, going it alone may be ideal.
In this week’s theme, we’ll examine how going it alone, in work and in life, can be an inherently rewarding and positive experience. Tune in for a discussion about the joys of solitude in freelancing and creativity, with some salty observations about introverted goodness thrown in for good measure.
Enjoy.
RANDOM LINK of the day. Scully and Mulder fans out there? Sure the last season blowed on an epic scale. But damn, this looks sweet.

There are so many good movies coming out this summer and this is definitely one that I’ll see in theatres!

Just wanted to let you know I was getting a weird redirect on my feedburner - and again even when I typed your full address in myself. It might have just been me though
Looking forward to this week’s theme. I happen to love solitude and get cranky if I have to spend extended periods with other people. Fortunately my live-in man is very understanding!
