Life’s Interruptions - A QRW Status Report
For all you lovely regular QRW readers, you may have noticed I was absent from the bloggy airwaves last week. Life happens, as we all know, and it doesn’t fit a schedule. A close childhood friend of someone very dear to me died last week, at a young age and after a devastating, heartbreaking battle with mortality.
After a week and weekend of the aftermath, I’m back to work and back to blogging. We’ll take up where we left off, with a weekly theme of going it alone. Tomorrow, we’ll look at solitude in freelancing and creativity, and Thursday we’ll look at introverted goodness in publishing dreams. Friday tune in for a return to word porn and ranting!
Thank you for your patience and continued reading. The best Monday to all of you.
RANDOM LINK of the day. You all know I’m a huge BSG fan. This clip from a recent episode seems very fitting today. Here’s Gaeta’s Lament:
Phew! I was waiting ’til today before I started writing to see how things were going. Wanted to give you your space, you know? After the past few weeks with you talking about burnout and going it alone - I was worried we’d lost our Quiet Rebel Writer.
I’m sorry for your friend’s loss. My thoughts are with her.
You’re so about to get me hooked on BSG. I too have a interest in (addiction to) science fiction. Must.stay.away.from.the.Sci.Fi.Channel…No!…
June 2nd, 2008 at 5:48 pmHey Charlie! Glad to be back. It was a pretty crazy week - the man who passed away was actually my boyfriend’s close high school friend. So kind of close, and kind of tough.
So glad you’re getting hooked on BSG. It’s supercalifragilisticexpealidocious good.
June 2nd, 2008 at 9:11 pmYes, I am very sorry to hear about your friend’s loss. Always a tough thing. Things are crazy busy with me (mostly in the area of comedy) but I’d love to catch up sometime soon. Take care.
